Summary:  
The Sow Production Manager will work with the Senior Production Manager to ensure managed farms assigned to their pod are meeting company goals and objectives for maximum productivity, efficiency and profitability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Responsible for assisting in leading, managing, and developing farm managers for optimum performance
  • Maintain compliance of Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).   
  • Will ensure farm managers have the requisite resources to achieve maximum productivity.
  • Ensures all standardized programs are fully implemented at the farm level.
  • Understand the farm managers resource needs and facilitate timely delivery of services/products.
  • Assist/mentor farm managers in effectively leading, organizing and managing workforce performance.
  • Will work closely with farm managers to improve level of performance of their staff.
  • Ensures compliance of all safety procedures are in place & reinforced.
  • Assists the farm managers with staff development and training.
  • Communicates concerns for managed farms to production manager and herd veterinarian.
  • Conducts farm visits, reviews records, & assists in the development of action plans to resolve production concerns.
  • Review summaries and analysis of production data on farms to assist in resolving issues.
  • Complies with the practices and principals of bio-security
 
  • First 30 Days:
    1. Meet all the Sow Farm Managers and Evaluate their barns
    2. Learn what they have achieved and what their future improvement plans are
    3. Begin to build a collaborative and consultative relationship to ensure their success
    4. Familiarize yourself with all their vendors/suppliers
    5. Learn who to contact when products/services are not being delivered on a timely basis
 
 
  • Next 60-90 days
    1. Ensure they have reasonable goals set based on prioritized company metrics
    2. Begin to strategize with individual farm managers on how to assist them in achieving their goals
