WANTED: Exp’d retail manager to lead merchandising, and purchasing for a chain of New England stores. Office from your home.
The Merchandise Manager will play a key role in centralizing and transforming purchasing operations across 15-20 farm & garden stores in New England. This is a high-impact role that involves standardizing merchandising, streamlining inventory, and building strong vendor relationships. The role also requires leadership in driving change as the stores shift from independent purchasing to a centralized model.
Key Responsibilities are to standardize merchandising across all stores, including:
– Creating planograms.
– Developing end cap instructions.
– Streamline inventory management across the 17-store chain.
– Build and maintain vendor relationships, primarily through trade shows.
– Lead change management as store managers transition from independent purchasing to centralized buying.
– Oversee an estimated $15-20M in annual purchasing volume.

Qualifications
– 3+ years of experience managing a retail store.
– Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
– Ability to overnight travel 25-30% throughout New England.
– Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
– Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (strongly preferred).

Compensation and Benefits
– Base Salary
– Profit-sharing contribution to 401(k) of up to 15%
