Work with a leading, family-owned pork production company dedicated to excellence in the swine industry. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join their team in South Dakota. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to the heart of their operations, supporting the backbone of their workforce.
Summary: The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, on-boarding, training, and development of staff, as well as managing employee satisfaction, compensation, and benefits. This role supports the Office Manager and Production team as needed.
This role reports to the Office Manager, Senior Administrative Manager, VP US Operations and supports the Production Team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Staffing and Recruitment: Work closely with Senior Management to identify staffing needs and coordinate with recruitment sources to ensure a pipeline of qualified candidates. Assist in processing TN and H1B Visas and renewals as needed. 
  • Onboarding and Training: Lead the onboarding process for new hires, develop comprehensive training schedules, and oversee staff development programs.
  • Employee Engagement: Actively engage with employees to identify and implement opportunities for increasing satisfaction and retention.
  • Benefits Management: Collaborate with management to evaluate and manage employee benefits, ensuring competitive and comprehensive offerings.
  • Compliance and Administration: Ensure adherence to industry standards and company policies, including the Secure Pork Plan and Swine Health Improvement Plan. Manage data and assist in administrative tasks to support operational efficiency.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree, or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish communication.
  • Experience in the swine live production industry is highly preferred.
