The Live Production Technician supports all aspects of turkey production operations, focusing on animal welfare, biosecurity, and production efficiency. This role is responsible for ensuring that the turkeys are raised in a safe and healthy environment and that all operational, quality, and regulatory standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:
- Animal Welfare & Health Monitoring:
- Monitor and assess the health and behavior of turkeys, identifying any issues and ensuring proper nutrition, ventilation, and temperature.
- Implement biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks and maintain clean, sanitary conditions.
- Facility & Equipment Maintenance:
- Inspect, clean, and maintain barns, equipment, and feeding systems to provide a safe, comfortable environment for turkeys.
- Perform minor repairs on equipment as needed to minimize disruptions in daily operations.
- Data Collection & Reporting:
- Accurately document daily production activities, including feed consumption, mortality rates, and bird weight.
- Report findings to the Live Production Manager to optimize production processes.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations related to poultry production, animal welfare, and worker safety.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and food safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification or degree in animal science, poultry science, or agriculture preferred.
- 2 to 3 yearts experience working with live poultry, especially turkeys, in a farm setting.
- Basic mechanical skills for minor equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and humid environments.
- Attention to detail, commitment to quality, and adherence to biosecurity and safety protocols.
