Global biotech co. seeks Sales Specialist to sell a diversified line of specialty ingredients, minerals, and growth enhancer products to Pork Powerhouses, dairy & livestock producers in IA, IL, IN, OH, MN, WI, and MI.
We are looking for a forward-thinker with practical production knowledge, who understands how to sell science-based products to technical professionals and thru various distribution channels. Ideally, this individual will have established relationships with swine customers in the territory and is able to expand the market reach into others within the livestock segment.
Maintain and grow business within all species: Swine, Poultry, and Ruminants
Visit with customers and call on nutritionists, feed mills, layer/pig/livestock producers to introduce products. Schedule meetings, manage reports, build and strengthen relationships with decision makers & influencers.
Optimize & maintain contacts with existing clients, identify and select new business and customer prospects. Manage the market in terms of sales volume and margins. (80% customer focused, 20% paperwork)
Identify new business opportunities. Communicate effectively with different players: veterinarians, nutritionists, purchasing managers, feed mills, etc.
Facilitate and initiate field trials with producers. Work with customer/s and leadership team to communicate findings and participate in internal decision making on improvements/innovations and sales strategies. Travel: 60% depending on your location

To be seriously considered, candidate/s must have:
B.S. or M.S. degree in Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, or related field of study
8 to 10 years experience selling feed ingredients or nutritional products in swine and/or the livestock business
Must live within the 7-state territory: IA | IL | IN | OH | MN | WI | MI
